Retraction & Withdrawal Policy

Retraction & Withdrawal Policy

The Conference Proceedings of Science (CPS), University of Diyala, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Retraction and withdrawal procedures are applied to protect the scholarly record and ensure transparency for the research community.

1. Withdrawal Before Acceptance

Authors may request the withdrawal of their submission before editorial acceptance.
The request must be sent from the corresponding author’s email to: cps@uodiyala.edu.iq and include:

  • Article title

  • Submission ID (if available)

  • Reason for withdrawal

No fees are applied for withdrawal at this stage.

2. Withdrawal After Acceptance

Once an article is accepted, withdrawal requests are discouraged. However, if authors insist on withdrawal, a written justification is required and may result in administrative charges to compensate the review and editorial work already completed.

3. Retraction After Publication

A published article may be retracted if:

  • Evidence of plagiarism is confirmed (similarity index misconduct).

  • Ethical violations, data fabrication, or falsification are proven.

  • Authors fail to disclose conflicts of interest.

  • Duplicate publication or redundant submission is discovered.

  • Authors request retraction with valid academic or legal reasons.

A retracted article remains accessible but is marked clearly as Retracted with a notice explaining the reason.

4. Retraction Notice

Each retraction notice will include:

  • Article title and citation

  • Date of retraction

  • Responsible authority (Editorial Board or Publisher)

  • Detailed justification

5. No-Show / Non-Responsive Authors

If authors do not respond to editorial communication within 30 days, the submission may be removed from the active review pipeline.

6. Appeals

Authors may appeal retraction decisions by emailing: cps@uodiyala.edu.iq
The Editorial Board will review appeals in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines.
