Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism & AI Usage Policy
Conference Proceedings of Science (CPS) is committed to preserving academic integrity and ensuring that all published work is original, ethically produced, and scientifically sound. To achieve this, CPS implements comprehensive regulations on plagiarism detection and AI use in compliance with COPE guidelines and international publication standards.
1. Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo mandatory plagiarism checking before peer review.
-
Acceptable similarity threshold: ≤ 20% (excluding references and common terminology)
-
Reports above this limit require revision or justification by authors
-
Major ethical violations may result in rejection or retraction
Prohibited Practices
✔ Direct copying of text without citation
✔ Mosaic or patchwork text from multiple sources
✔ Paraphrasing without proper acknowledgment
✔ Self-plagiarism and duplicate publication
✔ Data, image, or figure plagiarism
✔ Submitting previously published work under new authorship
2. Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism
| Stage Found | Action |
|---|---|
| Pre-review | Rejection |
| During review | Temporary hold & required explanation |
| After acceptance | Cancellation of acceptance |
| Post-publication | Retraction + Institutional notification |
CPS reserves the right to notify the author’s institution or funding agency in cases of confirmed misconduct.
3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy
CPS recognizes the role of AI in modern research but enforces strict rules to protect research integrity.
3.1 Allowed AI Uses
AI tools may be used only for:
-

AI use must be transparently disclosed, even if minimal.
3.2 Prohibited AI Uses
The following are strictly forbidden and may lead to rejection or retraction:
Writing research content using AI (text generation)
Literature review generated by AI without verification
AI-created data, results, experiments, or statistics
Fabricating images or microscopy/medical/technical outputs using AI
AI paraphrasing used to disguise plagiarism
Concealing the use of AI assistance
3.3 AI Authorship
AI systems cannot be listed as authors.
To qualify as an author, individuals must meet authorship criteria recognized by COPE / ICMJE, including:
-
Intellectual contribution to the work
-
Responsibility for content accuracy
-
Agreement to be accountable for findings
4. Required AI Disclosure Statement
If AI tools were used, authors must include the following statement in the manuscript:

If no AI tools were used:
AI Disclosure:
The authors confirm that no AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.
5. Accountability
By submitting to CPS, authors accept full responsibility for:
-
Originality of the manuscript
