If conflicts exist, they must be described, for example:
Author X received research funding from Organization Y which may be considered a potential conflict of interest.
Conflicts Include

Personal or professional relationships with reviewers or editors.

Participation in organizations or committees related to study topic.
Reviewers & Editors
Reviewers and editors must decline participation if they:

Have co-authored with the author in the last 3 years.

Work in the same research group or institution.

Have direct competition or collaboration with authors.
